No More Death

By Mary Kroeger

A) "For He must reign until He has put all His enemies under His feet. The last enemy that will be abolished is death. For He has put all things in subjection under His feet." (1 Cor. 15:2 5-27)

B) "And He will a wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away." (Rev 21:4)

C) "But now has been revealed by the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel." (2 Tim 1:10)

Listen to the good news of the gospel! The life of Christ Jesus is going to do away with all death! It will be the last enemy to be abolished, but we have the blessed and sure promise that all shall be swallowed up in life! There will be NO MORE DEATH!

What is death? God's first recorded instruction to Adam was that he was not to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. If he disobeyed, he would die! Before he disobeyed he was not acquainted with death. All was in life! Death came as the result or consequence of having sinned. Death is the punishment for disobedience, and disobedience is sin! God did NOT say that eternal torture in hell would be the punishment for having sinned. No, the punishment was death!

At present we are well acquainted with death. We see it in nature. Plants die, trees die, birds die, animals die, etc. We see it in the things we invent and make! Computers break down, cars break down, houses break down, etc. At the time of this writing I am 97 years of age, and I see it in my body. I can no longer do so many things that I used to do, and I can no longer see as much as I used to see. I see death creeping in. It is difficult to imagine a world without death!

NO MORE DEATH! No more punishment because there is no more sin! As long as disobedience exists, death exists. Punishment for past sins cannot continue when all sin is forgiven and no longer exists! This is good news for it reveals the fact that an eternal hell belief is not based on truth. It comes from the wrong understanding of the scriptures. The punishment for sin is death! When ALL is swallowed up in life, there can be no death!

There can be no exception in all! ALL will be subject to Christ! ALL are made alive in Christ! It is easy for us to see that in Adam all die, for we see the corruption all around us. But for us to see that Christ's obedience is greater than Adam's disobedience, we need to see with eyes of faith! God has said that there shall be no more death, and His words are always truth!

We are so bound to only believing what we can see with our natural eyes and understand with our natural mind. This is very limiting! After Jesus died, women came to the tomb to minister to a dead body. They followed their tradition, for that was all they could do. But when they got to the tomb, the dead body had disappeared! How? Had it been stolen? No, it was the life in Christ - His Spirit (life is in the Spirit), the Spirit that He had placed in the hands of the Father before He died - that had overcome death! It was "according to the power of an indestructible life." (Heb. 7:16) Jesus said that He had the authority to lay His life down, and the authority to raise it up again! (John 10:18)

There is no death in the life we receive in Christ. This is hard for us to believe. We may think we believe it even when we do not really believe it or understand the depth of it. The scriptures tell us that when we are born again, we are a new creation, born of an imperishable seed, by the living word of God! An imperishable seed cannot be corrupted because there is nothing in it that contains corruption!

This new creation is invisible to our mortal eyes. "We walk by faith, not by sight (appearances)." (2Cor. 5:7) Do we believe what the scriptures tell us? Or do we believe what our eyes tell us? If so, we'll delegate our everlasting life to begin after we take our last breath. Are we still sinners after we are born of God? Is there any sin in God? Does He pass sin on to His children even though He has no sin to pass on? Are we a new creation or are we still in our sins?

If we remain sinners, and our new birth does not bring us into a higher realm, why would we need a new birth? It is so hard for us to believe that our new birth has taken us out of Adam, the man who sins, and placed us into Christ, the Man in whom there is no sin! As long as we are in our physical body, the carnal mind of death is still alongside the mind of Christ - the mind that is in the new creation that we are in Christ. These two minds have nothing in common. The carnal mind is the mind of death, and the mind of Christ is the mind of life! (Romans 8:6-9) So when there is NO MORE DEATH, there can no l onger be a carnal mind anywhere - not on earth, under the earth or in the heavens! Ephesians 1:9-10 says that the mystery of His will is "to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ."

Praise God, what a great redemption is ours in Christ!! Christ has become our righteousness, our redemption and our sanctification! There is no death in His life! He will rule until ALL is subject to Him, and there will be NO MORE DEATH! "Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways! For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who became His counselor? Or who has first given to Him that it might be paid back to him again? For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever! Amen." (Rom. 11:33-36)

Let's not believe the limitations our natural mind puts on God! He is able to do His will and to keep His promises! "Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen." (Eph. 3:20-21) He has promised that there shall be NO MORE DEATH, and He will bring it to pass!
